The downtown city center is just on the other side of the river. You can walk to the Funicular station app. 5 minutes from the Hilton Budapest. This will bring you to the Chain Bridge - crossing the bridge you are in the center. You can take the bus NR 16 - goes directly to Deak Ferenc tér and Moskva tér - which has a stop just a minute from the hotel.

A small supermarket, a post office, pharmacy, cafes and restaurants are all situated within a five-minute walk away.

Fishermans Bastion

Immediately behind Hilton Budapest. It is one of Budapest’s most significant landmarks. Standing on the bastions you get a magnificent view of the Danube River and the impressive buildings of Pest beyond.

Matthias Church

This neo-gothic coronation church – one of the landmarks of Budapest - is situated next to the hotel. Dated back to the early middle Ages, it was rebuilt by 1896. Live concerts and performances are on the program! In front of the Matthias Church in the middle of Szentháromság Square stands the Holy Trinity Column. The inhabitants of Buda to fend of another plague epidemic erected the 14-metre-high monument between 1710 and 1713.

Labyrinth of Castle Caves

This network of tunnels going on for miles is located beneath the Castle Hill. It contains huge, cavernous rooms, originally intended as cellars and bomb shelters. One section even features reproductions of cave paintings from around Europe.

Secret Military Hospital and Bunker

It’s recalling the hardly known chapters of Hungarian history being the biggest Hungarian waxwork exhibition with more than 40 figures.

Royal Palace

It is 10 minutes walk from the hotel. (Left hand side Szent György Square) It was built in the mid-13 century and it has been the residence of the Hungarian kings for centuries. Nowadays the Hungarian National Gallery with outstanding exhibitions and Budapest Historical Museum furthermore the National Széchenyi Library is located in the Palace

The City of Culture and Festivals

Budapest is a flourishing cosmopolitan city. Theatres, museums, collections and temporary exhibitions are concentrated in the Hungarian capital. Each season has its special festival like the Spring Festival, Summer on the Chain Bridge, Sziget Festival, Celebration of Arts and Crafts, Wine Festival, Autumn Festival and the Christmas Fair.

Mammut Shopping and Entertainment Center

Comprising more than 250 stores, brand-name shops, restaurants and entertainment establishments (pubs, bars, fast food restaurants, cinema, bowling course, night clubs). Just 10 minutes walk from the Hilton Budapest.

Central Market Hall

The Budapest Central Market Hall offers an incredible variety of quality foods. Encompassed within a building more than 100 years old, the market with its paprika garlands, strings of garlic, the fruits, vegetables, and on the first floor the flower-sellers and snack bars offering true tastes of Hungary create a kaleidoscope of colours, sounds, aromas, sights.

The City of Spas

There is probably no other capital city on the globe with swimming pools and bathing halls dating back to the Turkish occupation and still in use today, with thermal spas irradiating the rich colors and forms of Art Nouveau and featuring one of the largest spas in Europe. The Gellért Thermal Bath and Swimming Pool offers besides the `champagne` and wave pools, the sunbathing terraces for women only and for mixed naturists.
